Yesterday we hit the 10 week mark. Double digits! This pregnancy seems to be moving along quickly! I feel a little guilty because I wanted to start my bump progression timeline photos at 8 weeks and just never got around to doing it. So this week, I’m going to start. Pinky promise.
We also got some great news last night! We put an offer in on a condominimum earlier this week and it was accepted! Escrow starts today! I know it might be stressful to some people, two big changes at once, but we’re thrilled! It seems like we’ve been talking about becoming homeowners and (someday) parents for a long, long time and now it’s actually happening. A little surreal to say the least.
Here’s my 10 week update:
Total weight gain so far: Still between the 1 and 2 lb mark.
Cravings: Mexican food. I ate tacos on Monday and I made green chicken enchiladas Wednesday (I’m getting really hungry now just typing this out).
What I miss: Beer. Asaf and I used to share a
pitcher of beer some Friday nights, just to unwind from the week. I miss that.
What I’m excited about: Our new home! Our next doctor appointment March 11. Still being morning sickness free! Celebration dinner tonight at Houston’s!
What I’m nervous about: I joined BabyCenter’s “September Due Date” group and some of those ladies freak me out!!! (More on this topic later)
Note to Baby: Thanks for letting us find your heartbeat again yesterday. I was starting to get kinda nervous!
We’re officially nine weeks (plus one day) and it’s Valentine’s Day! So much to celebrate. My heart is bursting with happiness!
I woke up early this morning and decided to try out the fetal doppler my Mom gave us. I was lying on the couch, a bit discouraged when a sleepy eyed Asaf walked into the room. I gave him an exaggerated frown (I can be dramatic in the mornings) and asked if he wanted to give it a shot. Just a moment after handing over the wand, we heard a heartbeat! Looks like Baby is hanging out on my right side!
Here’s my 9 week update:
Total weight gain so far: 1-2 lbs? (This could just be last night’s dinner.)
Cravings: Fruit! This week I’m finding it hard to think about real food (don’t worry. I’m still eating!). I much prefer all types of fruit.
What I miss: Coffee. Soft cheese. Wine (I bet wine misses me too).
What I’m excited about: Finally recovering from my cold! Cute maternity pants that I found on sale! Hearing a heartbeat today on our portable doppler!
What I’m nervous about: Picking out Baby’s name. So far our short list is … very short! Good thing we still have plenty of time before our Little One arrives!
Happy Valentine’s Day! Wishing you love, love, LOVE, today and always!
And now, for your listening pleasure: The Cure
Last Friday we had an appointment with the Doctor and he gave us a due date! Drumroll please …………September 18, 2014! That means we’re 8 weeks now 🙂 Woo hoo! He also said all my bloodwork is normal (though he did ask if I had a history of anemia which we’ll keep an eye on). What a relief!
Now that we have a due date this whole baby business is really starting to sink in! Although I spend most of my free time dreaming about baby, there are a few other things going on too! We are still actively searching for our new home and we finally purchased our plane tickets to Israel next month. Lots of good things are coming soon!
Note to Baby: Hello my little raspberry! Hope you’re getting nice and comfy. We’ve got 32 weeks to go!
We saw our baby today! It was amazing! Our tech today was the polar opposite of the last sonogram technician. She hardly said a word to us while she was searching and typing and clicking away on the sonogram machine. It was driving me bananas! Whenever I would try and crane my neck around to see the monitor she would ask me to lay back down. From time to time I peeked over at Asaf, searching his puzzled face for some good news. He looked back at me hopeful but unsure.
A zillion years later she said she would show us some images! She turned the monitor to face us and pointing to a little spot on the screen she said, “There’s your baby”. It was music to my ears (!!!) and when she followed that up with “That little blinking circle is your baby’s heartbeat” I wanted to cry. After we reviewed a few more angles she printed up several images and handed them to Asaf. “First pictures” she said. Absolutely incredible! We’re on Cloud 9!
First picture of our little peanut!
Note to Baby: You are our best news ever!
